Home-Keeper helps you look after your home. To do that we keep some information about you and your house. This page explains what, why, who else sees it, and how to get it back or delete it. We don't sell your information and we don't show ads.
What we keep
- Your account: email address and password (the password is stored only as a secure hash).
- Your home: address, the details you enter (year built, size, features like a basement or sump pump), and the climate, hard-water and radon information we look up for your county or ZIP code.
- Your tasks: your schedule, what you marked done, snoozed or skipped, and your reminder settings.
- Appliances and records: brands, models, serial numbers, warranty dates, and any photos, receipts, PDFs, quotes and pros you add.
- Questions you ask the task assistant, and its answers.
- Your devices: a push notification token so we can send reminders. We don't use your location; your county comes from your address.
- Usage counts: simple events like “visited the site”, “created an account” or “saw the plans screen”. On the website we use a random id stored in your browser, not cookies, and no third-party trackers.
- Waitlist: if you join, your email and optional ZIP code, used only to tell you when the app is ready.
Who helps us run it
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Supabase hosts our database, file storage and sign-in (servers in the United States).
- Anthropic (Claude) reads listing text you paste, label photos you scan, and questions you ask the task assistant, along with the home and appliance details needed to answer. Anthropic doesn't use this to train its models under our commercial terms.
- U.S. Census Bureau Geocoder turns your address into a county so we can time tasks for your climate.
- Expo (and Apple and Google) deliver push notifications.
- Apple, Google, RevenueCat and Stripe handle payments. We never see your full card number.
- YouTube. How-to videos play in YouTube's player using the YouTube API Services. When a video plays, Google may collect information under the Google Privacy Policy. Using the video features means you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. We don't access your YouTube or Google account.
Your household
If you invite someone to your household, they can see your home's tasks, appliances and records. You can remove them at any time.
Getting your data, or deleting it
- Export: in the app, Settings → Your data → Full data file (JSON) gives you everything we keep about you and your household as a file.
- Delete: Settings → Delete my account. If you own the household, this deletes the home and everything in it, including photos and files, and removes anyone you invited. If you joined someone else's household, only your account is deleted. Deletion happens right away; backups are overwritten within 30 days.
- App Store and Google Play subscriptions are managed by Apple and Google; cancel those in your phone's settings.
- To leave the waitlist or ask anything about your data, email support@gethome-keeper.com.
Keeping it safe
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Photos and documents are stored privately and opened only through short-lived links. Each household can see only its own information.
Children
Home-Keeper is for adults managing a home. It isn't meant for children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
